FAQ
Winterization Questions
When should I winterize my boat in Missouri?
We start scheduling winterization in September and recommend having your boat winterized before Thanksgiving, so it’s protected before freezing temperatures arrive.
What does boat winterization include?
Winterization typically includes fuel stabilization, an oil and filter change, engine fogging, draining the cooling system and adding antifreeze, and winterizing ballast tanks, heaters and plumbing.
Do wake boats need special winterization?
Yes. Ballast tanks, pumps, heaters and showers hold water that can freeze and crack components, so they need to be properly drained and protected.
What is a spring start-up?
A spring start-up de-winterizes your boat and includes fluid checks, battery service, an impeller and belt inspection and a full systems test so you’re ready for the season.
Can I schedule winterization and spring start-up together?
Yes. Select both on the service request form and we’ll schedule them together.
